Karen Uhlenbeck
Uhlenbeck, a professor emerita, served on UT Austin’s faculty for more than a quarter century. Her mathematical research has been described as some of the most important of its time, influencing geometry, mathematical physics and theoretical work related to partial differential equations. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, she is the recipient of a National Medal of Science, a MacArthur Foundation fellowship, the Steele Prize and the Abel Prize.
