To achieve in STEM disciplines requires ingenuity, grit and insight. This series celebrates scientific and mathematical achievements by people in STEM from many different walks of life. At The University of Texas at Austin and its College of Natural Sciences, students, faculty and alumni represent a broad swath of backgrounds. They grew up in small towns and big ones, with and without means, believing they could be a scientist — or never having explored that identity in early life.
The posters and downloadable digital displays on this website highlight individuals, in and out of our Texas Science community, whom we consider world-changers for the impact they have made in their discipline and in society, often against the odds. Use these resources in your home, office or classroom.
